Toyota Celica TA22 restoration - Phase 1

Classic but still alive.. TA22 Celica..

After two years hunting for classic two doors sport car, now i found it and I'm the owner of this Japan classic car.. Born in 1973.. Almost 40 years old but still gorgeous...

Purchased it on 9/10/2012. Powered by Silvia S13 - SR20 DET motor. The owner said the rear axle now LSD fabricated from mitsubishi A175.

This car is driveble but the engine cross member being cut & paste and the steering angle is short and touch the wheel house. So, I decide to change engine mounting, respray & modified to driftable car..

Just after 19 days bought, the car ready now in backyard for first phase of restoration.. Take out the engine. It was second day of Eidil Adha. Not in rush coz this is first time i strip the Sr20 wiring.. I dont want to screw up the wiring harness and study what the previous owner done to car.. Btw, battery is in rear hood.

Take out this SR20 from engine bay is very straight forward process and found that the power steering is the same as my father small lorry. It takes about three working days.

Next week TO BE CONTINUE...
